The special training facility was built in the frame of development cooperation between Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and Civil Protection and Emergency Situation Service of Moldova „Improvement of operational capacity and proficiency of Moldova fire-fighters“ in the training center of the Moldova firefighters. The training container allows to train the fire-fighters in conditions of real fire in confined spaces. The fires in confined spaces belong to the most dangerous fires and it is necessary for the fire-fighters to be prepared for these kind of interventions.

Fire-fighters have opportunity not only get practically acquainted with the dynamics of development of fire phenomena such as rollover or flashover, but they can also conduct training of firefighting technique and rescue of people in the training facility. The training facility, which is built in Moldova, is based on the facilities used in the Czech Republic and other countries such as Sweden, Germany or USA.

The training facility was built by the Moldovan supplier according to technical specification establish by Czech fire-fighters. This supplier is now, on the basis of gained experience, able to build these containers also in other parts of Moldova. Czech fire-fighters do not transmit only container but also ensure the first training for Moldovan instructors. These instructors will be able to train fire-fighters and prepare also other instructors. The instructors from the Moldovan fire-fighters ensure the sustainability of the project and implementation of the experience gained during the training into everyday interventions. Fire-fighters which complete the training will be able to effectively intervene in case of fire in confined areas, save people inside and protect their own health and life.

Together with container, twenty sets of personal protective equipment and two thermal imagine cameras were handover to fire-fighters to ensure the training. Thermal imagine cameras are devices that display environment based on their different temperatures. With this cameras, it is possible to conduct effective reconnaissance of the building affected by fire and find the people inside and focus of fire in a short time. Thermal imagine cameras will not be used only during the training but also during everyday interventions of Moldova fire-fighters. This system of special training of fire-fighters was initiated by this project of development cooperation and meets the standards of fire-fighter training in the European Union.

The cost of construction of the training center amounted to 730 423 CZK (26 426 EUR), the cost of sets of personal protective equipment and two thermal imagine cameras was 986 358 CZK (35686 EUR).

The total cost of the three-year project amounted to 6676223 CZK (241 542 EUR). The project is financed from the state budget of the Czech Republic in the frame of International Development Cooperation of the Czech Republic.
