Christmas meeting of the Foundation
The Police Officers and Firefighters Foundation - Mutual Assistance in Distress organized the traditional pre-Christmas meeting of families of police officers and firefighters who died in the performance of their duties. The Foundation helps to improve living conditions of the survivors, especially children.p. 2

New Act on the Fire & Rescue Service of the Czech Republic
On 1 January 2016 the new law on the Fire & Rescue Service of the Czech Republic entered into force. Its main objective is to regulate the status and organization of the corps. p. 6

Projects of FRS CR
At the end of 2015 the implementation phase of a major set of projects supported from theprostředků Strukturálních fondů Evropské unie. Structural Funds of the European Union was completed. The package of projects was aimed at improving the quality of receiving emergency calls to basic bodies of the Integrated Rescue System. p. 11

Fire protection in coal processing
The Fire & Rescue Service of the Sokolov Coal enterprise is in charge of fire protection not only a huge complex of almost two million square meters, but also 3,200 employees appointed of this company. p. 14

ZONE 2015 exercise
In September last year, the ZONE 2015 exercise, aimed at dealing with the consequences of simulated radiation accident at the nuclear power plant, was held. The exercise of crisis management bodies took place in the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant in South Bohemia.p. 17

Portable gamma-radiation detectors
Last year the Fire & Rescue Service of the Czech Republic was equipped with portable frame gamma-radiation detectors. These equipment are used in case of an accident in a nuclear power plant for sorting people and technology. Detectors were used for the first time in the ZONE 2015 exercise.p. 20

Solving power failure accidents
None complete solution for any large-scale and long-term power outage is possible to manage only by forces and means of the Integrated Rescue System. Synergy of all competent bodies from both, governmental and private sector, is necessary. p. 26

DRMKC - Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Centre
In September 2015 the Disaster Risk Management Knowledge Center, DRMKC, established by an initiative of the European Commission and EU Member States, launched its activities. One of its missions is to improve coordination in tackling disasters within the EU. p. 29

Czech FEU balanced
In November 2015 the 20th Assembly of the Czech Association of Fire Officers (ČAHD, the Czech FEU) took place in Brno. The Association is a significant contributor to a range of domestic and international projects in the field of fire protection.
