Crisis management in the Czech Republic
Crisis management is, in terms of security policy of the Czech Republic, conceived as a set of procedures and provisions that need to be applied by crisis management bodies (government, ministries and other central administrative authorities, regional bodies and other authorities with jurisdiction in the region, the municipal authorities with extended powers and municipality authorities) to be able to overcome adverse advancement in the society. A distinction is made whether the situation relating to the provision of defence of the Czech Republic against external attack (external security), or situations that are not related to the provision of defence (internal security).
- Crisis preparedness is provided in the organization (creation of organizational structures, emergency and crisis planning), technical (equipment and other material) and competence (training and education).
- Solution to the crisis is related to the implementation of rescue and relief work, the implementation of measures to protect the affected population, emergency survival measures to ensure functional public administration and critical infrastructure.
- Prevention of crisis situations is mainly linked to protection of critical infrastructure.
